No translation for the "ides of March." I haven't got a clue. No tengo la menor idea cómo se dice "ides" en español...si alguien sabe, dime, por favor. Puede ser "a mediados de marzo" pero le falta algo, porque "a mediados" no tiene ninguna maldad como "ides" cuando en la obra de Shakespeare, César estaba llegando al fin de su vida, y la pronóstico de su muerte vino con estas palabras, "Beware the Ides of March." "Tenga cuidado a mediados de marzo," no me suena igual. Ni modo.
The Ides of March...here we are, right smack intothemiddleofwinteragain. My "Spring person" has gone into hibernation and I'm back to the Winter person of before...oh, well, such is life. Icicles hanging from the roof, sore muscles from shoveling wet, heavy snow, my just uncovered labyrinth under a foot (20 centimetros) of snow AGAIN. Carámbanos suspendidos del tejado.
Hay lugares en el mundo dónde no se encuentra ningún termómetro porque el clima no varia tanto y no es importante saber con anticipación si va a llover o no. Si llueve, bueno, llueve y ya, si no llueve, pues no llueve y la vida sigue. Aquí estamos pegados al radio o a la tele para saber que va a pasar con el clima. Nuestra vida cambia totalmente dependiendo de lo que hace el clima. Por ejemplo, el viernes teníamos planeado ir a una cita en Harvard Square, después ir a Boston al salon de mi hija para que ella le cortara el pelo a Teo. Pero--llegó la tormenta más grande de la temporada y tuvimos que cancelar todo y quedarnos en casa mirando por la ventana desaparecer la Primavera. (suspiro, suspiro)
Okay, so what's the point of this? There has to be a point. I'm not translating the Spanish for my gringo friends, it's too much, the gist of the previous paragraph is you can't trust the weather. Period.
(Tinkling bells here) Life just is. Each moment is new. Be in the moment. Savor each breath. Be happy. You are alive. Live each moment to the fullest. Move, sing, laugh, cry, dance, think, don't think, talk to someone, write to someone, be grateful, smile, say something nice, hold onto what is good and love, love LOVE.
AH, NIEVE, TE QUIERO, TE QUIERO INVIERNO, TE QUIERO VIENTO, TE QUIERO FRIO, TE QUIERO MOMENTO...CUALQUIER MOMENTO ES HERMOSO.
Just love it all, you can't change it, so why not love it? It's easier that way.
