Preguntas/ Questions

Me interesa saber.

Questions

Where am I?  Am I “here?”  Where is “here?”

Where is “there?”

Can I be “there” if I am “here?”

What is the mind?  Is it a hollow thing that I fill with my thoughts?  Are the thoughts that show up in my mind mine, or are they simply brain activity like the stomach when it digests food or the blood that runs through my veins?

(All of this happens without my awareness).

If thoughts are just brain activity, should I pay attention to them?  Should I believe them?

Where is the mind?  Is it the same thing as the brain?  When I create something what is functioning, the brain or the mind?  Or both?

What am I?  Am I just a pile of bones, muscles, teeth, veins, hair, fingernails, blood, skin?  Just a body?

Do I exist without the body?

These questions I find interesting to contemplate.  In fact, I spend a lot of time contemplating these kinds of questions and even more.  I arrive at answers to some of the questions, but I think my answers could be different from the answers of others.

What about you?

Do you have answers to these questions?

I would like to know.

Soy Lorena.

Today's question/ La Pregunta de Hoy

During my meditation yesterday I received the message to follow my kinesthetic impulses, those bodily urges, (I’m not talking biology here), but something much deeper, those inner impulses that your body feels, that do not originate in your head, i.e. from thinking, but rather from a place of non-verbal communication. For example, if you touch a hot shove, you don’t have to think about whether to take your hand away or not, your body knows what to do without your mind getting into it. Well, it seems I am to follow my body’s impulses, which feels quite natural to me and I really like the idea. For me, life is so much easier when I can leave “thinking” out of it. Of course, I’m talking about the kind of thinking that doesn’t do you any good, obsessing, worrying, that sort of thing, not thinking like rational thought. Is that clear? I hope so.

So, if my body wants to exercise, move, dance, that is what I should do. If my body feels like resting or settling down to read, then I should follow that impulse. If I listen carefully, my body will tell me when to stop eating and I will feel better if I follow that impulse. So, there is something to be learned.

What’s the question here? (There is always a question, right?)

The question is: Where do the body’s impulses come from? Hmmm?

If anyone has an answer please let me know.

Everything is the same, everything is different

I come and go. I spend time in my second home, my beloved Mexico. It’s the same but it’s not the same. My expectations didn’t come out the way I had thought they would. Everything changed in a way totally unexpected. That’s life…and me? Am I the same or am I different? Well, I’m not the same because I have lived two weeks more, or rather twelve days to be precise, twelve days more of experience, twelve days of seeing the sun, the clouds, the moon and the stars, twelve days more of eating, drinking, sleeping, chatting, thinking, worrying, exercising, getting dressed, getting undressed, bathing, putting on make-up, taking off make-up, cutting my nails, laughing, crying, breathing, practicing yoga, practicing the piano, singing, thinking about the future, thinking about the past, breathing, feeling the beat of my heart, imagining, walking on cobblestone streets, walking on my dry brown grass, noticing the change of the leaves from green to fall colors, feeling the air on my face, feeling the rain on my head, knowing that life is good, or simply knowing that life is and I am part of it, that I am part of everything I see and my question is: (because there is always a question) Where does the tree end and I begin? Or where do I end and where does the tree begin?

Am I the same or am I different?

Ah, I am twelve days older.

That’s life

on this planet

in this moment.

Hoy amanecí con una idea/Today I woke up with an idea

Today I woke up with an idea

Today I woke up with an idea, well, one idea and a lot of questions. I realize that I always have a lot of questions, but I don’t have answers to my questions. Maybe there are no answers, maybe they don’t exist…..hmmm, but I think there is not a single answer, I think that each person has his/her own “answer,” or something like that, like a partial answer, based on their/your point of view that comes from your experience and your own history.

So, my idea is to ask questions and solicit answers from…..from whom? Well, from YOU, THE PUBLIC, the people who read this blog…if you’re not too shy. I’m interested in other points of view, to know what other people think. I more or less know what I think…well, I mean “kind of,” but I don’t know what you people think, your point of view on the questions that go floating around the Universe.

There is no one “right” answer. We all have our point of view and that is valid. Like Indie’s blog, http://indeterminacy.blogspot.com/ everyone invents their own story based on the photo; the photo is like the question and the story that each person writes is their answer.

Today’s questions are: (You can choose one or more and write whatever comes into your mind, for example, a few words, a poem, an essay, a phrase or sentence, etc. and put them in the commentary section. Later, I will comment on what you have commented on and maybe we will begin a dialog and see if we arrive at any answers, and if not, it doesn’t matter, that’s life).

1. What do the clouds have to teach us?
2. How can you capture a bee as it goes from flower to flower taking out the pollen?
3. If the present moment is all we have, why does our mind travel so much to the past and the future?
4. Is it true that what we think today, creates our “tomorrow?”

Okay, these are today’s questions. We can spend some days on them, chewing on them, digesting them, later to spit them out to see where they fall and how.
