Siéntate a meditar y manda amor

Impaciencia.

(In other words, Cool it!)

¿Perro o Gato?/ Dog or Cat?

Si el perro pudiera hablar, ¿qué diría?

--Ay, mi dueno, te quiero mucho, vivo para ti, sin ti, no soy nada, eres mi vida y mi adoración….¿adónde vas? No me dejes solo. ¿No?

¿Gato o perro?

Dog or Cat?

If the dog could speak, what would he say?

“Oh, my master, I love you a lot, I live for you, without you I am nothing, you are my life and my adoration…where are you going? Don’t leave me alone. I’ll bring you my leash and we’ll go for a walk in the park. Today isn’t Saturday? Are you going to work? (pant, pant). But the house is so empty without you. What am I going to do all the hours that you are working, my master? I’m going to get bored all alone in the house with nothing to do. Why don’t you take me with you? I’ll behave myself, I promise. You won’t have to take me outside. I can hold it, really, I can hold it. Yes? Take me with you, please, I beg you. No? Oh, I’m so sad. So, don’t scold me if I chew up a slipper.” (sigh).

And the cat, what would he say if he had a voice?

“(Stretching) Oh, how nice it is to be sitting here in the sun in this corner. I’m going to take a little nap. (He yawns). What do you want? No, thank you, I’m doing fine right here…I don’t want to sit in your lap now, I’m very comfortable here…oh, how bothersome you are, I’m not hungry either, stop shaking that box of food. Besides, I hate that brand of food, it’s too dry. You won’t tempt me with that. Please, leave me alone, let me sleep a little..yes, yes, maybe later, if I feel like it. I can’t tell you now, I’m enjoying this moment being alone. Why don’t you understand that? Look for a dog, why don’t you?

What are you? A cat or a dog?

El Porvenir y el Ahora/The Future and the Now

--Hola chica,--me saludó.

Entonces, me di cuenta.

--¿Cómo te llamas, chica?—me preguntó.

Soy tu futuro.

--¿Cómo? –le pregunté. –Tal vez es usted gitana, clarividente.

--No, no soy gitana.

--¡¿Me casé?!—grité. –No es cierto, no me voy a casar. No quiero casarme.

--¿Hijas? Soy independiente.

The Future and The Now

What a beautiful day! I decided to get up before the sunrise and go to the beach to see the sun come up. My car, a 1952 Jaguar felt heavy and lazy, but I paid no attention to it and insisted on forcing it to obey my desire to arrive quickly to my destination.

Stepping on the warm sand and breathing the fresh air of the morning, I felt a tremendous peace and I gave thanks to be living this life at this very moment. I ran a little, skipped several times and did my cartwheels as I like to do when I find myself on the shore of a deserted beach. Then I began to pick up pretty shells and stuff them into my pockets. I was completely absorbed in this activity when out of nowhere a woman approached me walking and skipping a little. She seemed young even though she was much older than me.

“Hello, young woman,” she greeted me.

“Good morning,” I said. “Do you like the beach at this early hour?”

“Well…yes,” she answered me with an air of confusion.

“Look,” I told her, “here comes the sun.”

“The sun?” she said, “No, my dear, here in Harvard Square it’s cloudy.”

“Excuse me?” I looked around me and all I saw was the waves, the beach sand, the blue sky and the sun rising up little by little bringing us his warmth. Harvard Square, I thought. I wonder where that is. Then I realized it. This woman was crazy. I wanted to run away from her and soon, but my feet wouldn’t move.
“What’s your name, young lady?” She asked me. “It seems like I know you.”

“Lauren,” I told her.

“My name is Lauren too. I was born in Florida and as a youth I liked the beach a lot. I used to play the piano and when I was nineteen I left home to go to Boston in order to study. I wanted to be an actress.”

In that moment a wave of fear entered me and I shivered.

“It can’t be…I play the piano, I’m nineteen and I’m planning to go to Boston in order to study. I want to be an actress.”

The woman smiled. “Oh, of course, now I understand. I’m your future.”

“What?” I asked her. “Maybe you’re a gypsy, a clairvoyant.”

“No, I’m not a gypsy. I’ll give you proof. You live in a house in front of a pasture with horses and when you were fourteen you had a horse and you liked to go horseback riding and you would ride almost every week-end from six in the morning until six in the evening. Currently you have a friend who is very artistic and you—

“No more,” I interrupted her. “This is too strange.”

For a few moments there was silence. She looked at me with kind eyes and I felt a really strong connection with her. Maybe she could tell me if I was going to be a good actress or famous even. I dared to ask her. “And my acting career, did it happen?”

“When you got married you put that goal to one side, in other words—“

“I got married?!” I shouted. “It’s not true, I’m not going to get married. I don’t want to get married.”

“You see, in Boston you met a young Mexican guy and—“

“Mexican? I don’t know any Mexicans, I don’t want to know any Mexicans, I don’t have any interest in that. I have my plans and I’m going to carry them out. You will see.”

Tears were flowing now and I couldn’t help but cry.

“Lauren, dear,” she begged me, “you are going to have a good life, you are going to enjoy your daughters.”

“Daughters? I’m not going to have any daughters, I don’t like children and babies even less. I don’t want to be pregnant or give birth or any of that. I am independent. I’m going to be an actress and that’s that!”

I turned around and began to run. I ran all the way to my car and couldn’t stop my sobbing until I reached home and threw myself on my bed. I soon lost consciousness. I don’t know how long I slept, but when I woke up I realized that everything was a dream…or was it?

Eckhart y Oprah/ Eckhart and Oprah

“No somos nuestros pensamientos.”

Eckhart and Oprah

We have been watching the conversation between Eckhart Tolle and Oprah Winfrey on the Internet and here are some words that resonate with me.

“It is our responsibility to observe our thoughts and be witness to how we react to the events in our lives.”

“Our thoughts contribute to the collective energy field.”

“The voice in the head is conditioned thinking.”

“Be the awareness behind the thought.”

“We are not our thoughts.”

“Invite the stillness in.”

“Look at Nature.”

“The sacred is the essence of who you are.”

“The Ego is the false self.”

“The wrong question is: What do you believe in? The important question is: Are you present?”

“What is my relationship with the present moment?”

“Make peace with what is.”
